The Research Administration Office held KAKENHI explanatory seminar for international researchers at Shimane University on September 9, 2019. It aims to support them in preparing application for KAKENHI (Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research). KAKENHI is one of the most fundamental governmental research grant which sponsors wide research areas ranging from natural sciences to social sciences.

Dr. Hemanth Noothalapati presented the overview of KAKENHI including adoption trends in various categories and Dr. Masako Kotake advised on how to write a successful proposal. Young researchers actively participated in discussions after seminar and were keen to learn about rules and regulations of various categories.
